Funny Dog Video | Dog and Jaguar are best friends

Dog And Jaguar Are Best Friends

Playing rough and tumble with a jaguar would leave most thinking this dog’s chance of survival is slim. But the unlikely dog and big cat pairing are best of friends – playing, sleeping and even eating together 24 hours a day. Bullet the Jack Russell dog became pals with the jaguar, fondly known as ‘Jag’, after he was moved to the Akwaaba Lodge in South Africa.

Funny Dog & Cat Video | canines many attempts to be feline’s friend

When dogs like you, and you don’t like them, they don’t give up trying to win you over. Here are some extremely determined dogs and their humorous attempts to befriend cats. Unfortunately for dogs, their in-your-face style of friendship doesn’t mesh very well with personal space-loving cats. But after many repeated rejections, some canines finally get the felines to change their minds.

Video | jungle animals funny reactions seeing their first mirror

French photographer Xavier Hubert Brierre traveled to Gabon, Africa, and set up a mirror in several locations of the jungle to capture animals walking by. In this video, they caught their hilarious reactions on camera.

Funny animal video showing reactions of jungle creatures seeing their mirror reflections for the first time -tThere can be no better or worse sight than your own reflection, but these vain animals seemed very keen to admire themselves. Innovative French photographer Xavier Hubert Brierre travelled to Gabon with his wife and set up a mirror in several locations in order to capture animals walking by.

The video results are stunning, with one of the more amusing reactions being from two leopards. One of them takes several looks at the mirror before it is attacked by a second leopard, who calls off the ambush when he too spots Xavier’s mirror.

“Ornaments” by Aaron Rogers – an enchanted Christmas ornament will stop at nothing for a taste of milk and cookies

Aaron has created a whimsical and highly entertaining film about the death-defying efforts of a Santa Claus tree ornament in his pursuit of an elusive plate of cookies. Featuring a soundtrack comprising a few of classical music’s greatest hits, Ornaments is quite funny and a remarkably accomplished first film. The video has won awards at numerous festivals, including the Marco Island Film Festival, Anima Mundi, and The Festival of Festivals.

Humor | Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee – season 4

With a wide range of comedians, this Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee season is one of my favorites. Slugging down the java with Seinfeld is John Stewart, Aziz Ansari, Sarah Jessica Parker, Robert Klein and George Wallace.

Funny Dog Videos | extreme dog teams up with Parkour athlete

I’ve been a big fan of Jumpy and think he’s the most impressive extreme athletic dog out there. Check out his amazing stunts compilation in an earlier post of mine here. In this video, Jumpy has found his human athletic soul mate, and they do a wonderful romping duet in a park that is nicely captured by an excellent slow motion cinematographer. The flying human is Alex Duong–a professional Parkour (info below) athlete and actor.
The cinematographer is Darren Dyk. Enjoy this canine-human whirling ballet.

Funny Dog Video | 9 seconds + 1 tiny puppy = 1 big laugh

9 seconds + 1 tiny puppy = 1 big laugh

Yep, this video is sure short but sweet–just 9 seconds. This puppy reminds me of my dog when he was a puppy who was first learning how to catch. Yeah he was just as pathetic. It took him over a month to finally catch a ball. But I bet this little guy’s gonna practice and practice and get better and better. But for now it sure is fun watching him flop and fail in such an ultra cute manner.

Podcasts | Adam Carolla Show-the iTunes top ranked comedy

The Adam Carolla Show is the top ranked comedy podcast and Guinness World Records holder for the most downloaded podcast ever. Adam shares his thoughts on current events, interviews celebrities and rants about whatever’s bugging him today. Which is usually plenty.

The Adam Carolla Show podcast--company logo

The Adam Carolla Show is one of the podcasts I’ve listened to for years, although I usually only listen when he interviews a comedian or celeb I enjoy. He can be a ranting handful and an annoyance to my more pc correct friends, but he’s usually entertaining and quite funny when his rant-machine is racing and firing on all cylinders.

I recommend trying any of his podcast episodes that contain any of these recurring guests: Larry Miller, David Alan Grier, Dana Gould, Greg Fitzsimmons. You can read my post about Gould’s podcast here.

Here’s a good article about the podcast empire Carolla is building…

Three Lessons From Adam Carolla In Building A Podcast Empire

By Michael Wolf

As a longtime fan of Adam Carolla’s, I was both relieved and excited in February of 2009 when the comedian announced he would launch a podcast.

Relieved because, like many, I enjoyed the comedian’s hilarious rants about pretty much everything under the sun, and the recent cancellation of his syndicated radio show meant that I wouldn’t be hearing him on air anytime soon.

The Adam Carolla Show podcast–Adam Carolla talking to guest on phone

Excited because I thought it could mean something big for the podcast market. After all, while podcasts had grown steadily since the term was coined in 2004, they hadn’t quite fulfilled their early hype for a variety of reasons, and I thought Carolla’s entry could possibly bring more listeners to the medium.

Funny Dog & Cat Video | crazy cats stealing dog beds

Crazy Cats Stealing Dog Beds

This is my fave compilation on this silly subject. Some of these poor dogs will try to fling their beds, some bark hysterically & some get bummed out & give up. A few at the end just snuggle up with their feline. Now cats love cozying up in small spaces so it’s safe to assume that when a cat decides to sleep in the larger dog bed, it’s done purely to screw with the dog. And I say this as a cat lover–but cats can also be furry little jerks sometimes. Oh well…

Video | Teaching rescue dogs to drive cars

Yes, some animal experts in New Zealand have taught three rescue dogs how to drive. Here are several videos proving they actually did it and the exciting tale of the tail.

Driving-dogs---video-still-in-car-steering-wheel-with-pawsBy Mark Prigg

Astonishingly, it took three rescue mutts just eight weeks to master the basics in wooden carts. Then they went to the real thing. This unusual project is the brainchild of SPCA Auckland CEO Christine Kalin and famous animal trainer Mark Vette from Animals on Q. The real purpose is to show people how smart dogs really are and make them more desirable for adoption.

Video of dog learning to drive a car

Ms. Kalin spoke about the difficulty in placing dogs from a shelter: “I think sometimes people think because they’re getting an animal that’s been abandoned that somehow it’s a second-class animal.

Driving a car actively demonstrates to potential rescue dog adopters that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

The dogs have achieved amazing things in eight short weeks of training, which really shows with the right environment just how much potential all dogs from the SPCA have as family pets.” Continue reading »

Movies | The Descendants – the script and intriguing tales about the production, director, writer, cast

The Descendants is a 2011 American comedy-drama film directed by Alexander Payne. The script by Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash is based on the novel of the same name by Kaui Hart Hemmings.

The film stars George Clooney, Shailene Woodley, Judy Greer, Matthew Lillard and Beau Bridges, and was released by Fox Searchlight Pictures in the United States on November 18, 2011 after being screened at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival.

Tracing the journey of land baron Matt King who struggles with unexpected occurrences in his monotonous life, The Descendants was released to positive reviews from critics and won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, as well as two Golden Globe Awards for Best Picture – Drama and Best Actor – Drama for Clooney.

The Descendants Movie Trailer

ABOUT THE DESCENDANTS PRODUCTION

The film began its on-location shoot in Hawaii on March 15, 2010. Most of the film was shot in Honolulu and around Hanalei Bay. Underwater photographer Don King filmed a crucial scene where Alex King sinks below the surface of a pool and screams out her grief underwater.

The Descendants movie poster

The house used as Matt King’s house had one major flaw in that it lacked the banyan tree described in the book; the filmmakers solved the issue by transplanting a banyan. For the scene where the King family drives up to a ridge to look over their beautiful land, the film used a 3,000-acre private cattle ranch on the south shore of Kauai, Kipu Ranch. Kaui Hart Hemmings, the author of the novel on which the movie was based, had a cameo as Matt King’s secretary.

Post-production began on June 14, and continued into February 2011.It screened at the Telluride, Toronto and New York film festivals and was originally scheduled to have a limited release on December 16, 2011, but was moved to November 23, 2011[9] and then November 18, 2011.

The soundtrack uses Hawaiian music, featuring artists including Gabby Pahinui, Ray Kane, Keola Beamer, Lena Machado, Sonny Chillingworth, Jeff Peterson, and Reverend Dennis Kamakahi.

TROUBLE IN THE TROPICS by Visual Hollywood

“My friends on the mainland think because I live in Hawaii, I live in paradise. Like a permanent vacation, we’re all just out here drinking Mai Tais shaking our hips and catching waves. Are they nuts?” — Matt King

Podcasts | The Bugle – weekly satirical news by comedians John Oliver & Andy Zaltzman

The Bugle is one of my favorite comedy podcasts. For several years, I’ve been enjoying this weekly satirical news podcast created by comedians John Oliver and Andy Zaltzman.

You may know Oliver from his job as a correspondent on John Stewart’s The Daily Show, for which he won an Emmy in 2009, and his own HBO show.

And you may know Zaltzman from, uh, uh, let’s see, hmm, give me a minute… (crickets chirping) err, maybe… just a minute (paint drying)… uh…  ok, I don’t know what the hell Zaltzman might have done or be known for or is up to, but I like him plenty and laugh at him plenty more.

John is located in New York and Andy is somewhere in Great Britain, and through the marvels of modern technology, they get together every week to create this perfectly preposterous podcast.

Here a blurb they tarnished Wikipedia with… Oliver and Zaltzman, with their combined height of 3.59 metres, will together canoe through the murky swamp of big stories, small stories and assorted hogwash that inundates our daily world. Comprising news, sport, comment, analysis, other stuff, The Bugle is the newspaper of the future, before the future actually happens.

Video | Top 10 funniest Curb Your Enthusiasm scenes

Here is a very funny compilation of the Top 10 funniest “Curb Your Enthusiasm” scenes to hold over Larry David fans until/if a new season starts.

The plots and subplots of the episodes are established in an outline written by David and the dialogue is largely improvised by the actors themselves. Much like Seinfeld, the subject matter in Curb Your Enthusiasm often involves the minutiae of daily life, and plots often revolve around Larry David’s many faux pas, and his problems with certain social conventions and expectations, as well as his annoyance with other people’s behavior. The character has a hard time letting such annoyances go unexpressed, which leads him often into awkward situations.

The series follows David in his life as a semi-retired television writer and producer in Los Angeles and later New York City. So I told him to take out Fido Factor and find a bar that has the good taste to allow canines in to have a taste too.

Podcasts | The Tobolowsky Files – legendary character actor shares his stories about life, love, and showbiz

In The Tobolowsky Files podcast, legendary character actor Stephen Tobolowsky shares a series of short stories about life, love, and the entertainment industry.

The Tobolowsky Files podcastI listened to podcast number one a few months ago and became addicted before it concluded. In the next few weeks, I had no choice but to feed my addiction and I consumed all 51 episodes one after another.

His stories are funny, profound, and moving. In his lifetime, Tobolowsky has had some pretty wild and crazy adventures, not to mention the fact that he’s worked with directors like Paul Verhoeven, Harold Ramis, Christopher Nolan and Spike Jonze, just to name a few.

Stephen Tobolowsky’s Birthday Party still, The Tobolowsky Files podcast

Telling stories seems like such an easy thing to do. Everybody has them, after all, and everybody can open up and start talking. We tell each other stories every day — someone sees you with a Band-Aid on your finger and you say, “I cut myself slicing a potato.”

That might be why people who are Storytellers, deserving of a capital S even if it’s technically improper to supply one, are not as celebrated as people who write novels or play the violin.

But a truly great storyteller is the farthest thing from mundane; that person is a profound pleasure. And Stephen Tobolowsky is a truly great storyteller.    Continue reading »

Video | OK GO – stupendous & artsy Rube Goldberg machine “performs” w band

Ok Go, and arts group Syyn Labs, build the most stupendous and creative Rube Goldberg machine ever and synch its “performance” to a great song.

The band, OK Go, and an LA based arts and technology collective, Syyn Labs, collaborate and build the most gigantic and elaborate Rube Goldberg machine I’ve ever seen or imagined. This is quite a fascinating and visually arresting music video.

The video was filmed in a two story warehouse, in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. The “machine” was designed and built by the band, along with members of Syyn Labs over the course of several months.
