For the past year, I’ve been working on a personal project–Bellissima Venezia–creating images of my Venice neighborhood while walking my dog. And. I wanted to share a few silhouette photos from the project that I’m fond of. Since I first started out as a photographer, for some reason I’ve been fascinated with capturing silhouettes and shadows. I know one aspect which draws me to it, is that they add drama, mystery and interest to an image, emphasizing the shape of the subject while creating strong focal points in the composition. And I just find that it’s fun attempting to capture silhouettes, especially when they’re fleeting.
