The Magnificent Marine Dogs, my Mini-doc, tells the true tale of the valiant Marine service dogs who saved hundreds of soldiers lives during the battles to liberate Guam in World War 2. These brave and gallant canines tirelessly served as sentries, scouts and messengers. They fearlessly explored caves, detected mines, & dangerous boobytraps–all to protect the soldiers they loved.
Many men survived and made it back home because of the sacrifice of these noble canines. Over 25 brave dogs gave their very lives to protect their marines in Guam and elsewhere in the Pacific theater. And gallant service animals continue to save the lives of their humans to this very day.
